My approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, collaborative, person-centred, and strengths-based. I believe therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, respected, and safe to explore difficult experiences without judgment. I tailor treatment to each client’s culture, values, experiences, needs, and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I believe people are more than their symptoms, diagnoses, or difficult experiences. Our thoughts, emotions, relationships, culture, family history, and life circumstances shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. I view therapy as a collaborative process where clients can develop self-awareness, build on their strengths, understand patterns that may no longer serve them, and develop practical skills to move toward the life they want.
I believe healing is not about erasing difficult experiences, but about developing a different relationship with them while building greater self-compassion, choice, meaning, and connection. I respect each client’s pace and definition of healing.
I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported, particularly during challenging periods of life. Through my clinical experience, I have seen how trauma, culture, family relationships, chronic stress, illness, loss, and life transitions can affect how people see themselves and their possibilities.
What motivates me most is supporting clients to reconnect with their strengths, develop confidence and healthier relationships, establish meaningful boundaries, and recognize that their past experiences do not have to determine their future.
