My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that therapy is a
relationship built on safety, trust, and authenticity. I integrate evidence-based approaches
including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
mindfulness-based interventions, and attachment-informed approaches, while tailoring
therapy to each client’s unique experiences, strengths, identities, and goals.
I believe meaningful change happens when we support both the mind and body. My work
integrates exploration of thoughts, beliefs, and behavioural patterns alongside attention to
emotions, nervous system responses, and embodied experiences through mindfulness and
regulation skills. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood and supported while
also being gently challenged to build new skills, increase self-awareness, and move toward
a life that feels more aligned with their values.
I believe that people’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are shaped by their lived
experiences, relationships, environments, and the systems they have navigated. My
approach is grounded in trauma-informed and anti-oppressive principles, recognizing that
many struggles are not simply individual challenges, but are also influenced by experiences
of adversity, oppression, discrimination, and unmet needs.
I view symptoms and coping strategies as meaningful adaptations that developed in
response to a person’s experiences. Rather than focusing on “fixing” what is wrong, I believe
therapy is an opportunity to build understanding, self-compassion, agency, and new ways of
responding that support a more fulfilling life.
I became a therapist because I have always been deeply curious about people—their
stories, their experiences, and the moments that have shaped who they are. I believe there
is something powerful about being truly seen and understood, especially during times when
people may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or misunderstood.
My own experiences have shaped my appreciation for how meaningful it can be to have a
space where people feel safe to share their stories, explore their experiences, and be met
with compassion. Throughout my work in mental health and addictions, I have had the
privilege of sitting alongside people during some of their most difficult moments. I have
witnessed the strength and resilience people carry, even when they are struggling, and I
have seen the impact that compassionate, validating, and gently challenging support can
have in creating meaningful change.
I am passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, develop effective coping
strategies, and build a more compassionate relationship with themselves and others. It is a
privilege to hear each person’s story and walk alongside them as they work toward healing,
growth, and building a life worth living.
🌿 Get to Know Paige
A good therapeutic fit includes more than professional expertise. Here are a few of the things that make Paige, Paige.
Family & Pets?
Have a Life Partner and we have two fur babies (cats) named Arthur and Nugget. Which I guess makes me more of a cat person, but I love dogs just as much!
Favourite Hobbies?
I enjoy gentle movement like pilates, yoga, or walks in the river valley. I'm also a big arts and crafts fan, so I enjoy drawing, painting, and attempting to crochet.
Comfort Watch?
I'm a big reality TV fan. I could talk about the "Bravo-verse" for hours!
Favourite Thing to do in Edmonton?
Try out all the different cafes around the city, grab an iced coffee and venture around the Farmers market's, flea markets, thrift stores, and bookstores.
Favourite Book?
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls is a book that's always stayed with me. Makes sense, considering my journey into social work and the addiction and mental health field.
